Macau Society of Certified Public Accountants (MCPA) was constituted on 21 May 1990. Our main objectives are to foster the bounding of audit professionals and aim to enforce the technical, the culture, the code of ethic and all rights of audit professionals with reference to relevant rules and regulations. MCPA has been promoting professionalism of Macau audit professionals by building networks with other accounting bodies and enhancing academic exchange, organising training programs, publishing regular or unscheduled publications and hosting other exchange activities.

Since establishment, the Society has been invited by Financial Services Bureau and Legislative Council of Macau to give advices on tax regulations and exposure drafts and amendments to auditing and accounting related laws. Our menbers are also nominated as members of the tax assessment committees, members of committee for the Registry of Auditors and Accountants "CRAC" and its working committees which in charge of formation and post follow-up works of Macau Financial Reporting Standards and Macau Auditing Standards, and members of the examination bord of Macau registered accountants and auditors.

Besides, the Society organises every your various professional and training activities. These include seminars, talks, professional training and specified workshops, etc. It also held exchange programs with local and overseas professional bodies such as Macau Society o Accountants, Macau Society of Practising Accountants, Macau Society of Registered Accountants, The Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, CPA Australia, The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, Accounting Resources Center, ACCA Hong Kong Branch, Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Xiamen National Accounting Institute, Guangdong Institute of Certifed Public Accountants, Guangdong Audit Society, Shenzhen Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Zhuhai Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Zhuhai Audit Society, etc.

In 2006, the Society and the other three accounting professional societies jointly established "Union of Associations of Professional Accountants of Macau" and joined as one of the members contributing our effort in fostering bounding of audit professionals, promoting mutual cooperation among the societies and strengthening exchange with overseas professional bodies, etc.
